Grief Counseling
Rowan Center therapists are experienced in bereavement counseling. This is a form of grief therapy that focuses on helping people cope with the loss of a loved one. When a person anticipates or experiences a major loss it can be extremely beneficial to have the support of a professional therapist to address the range of feelings that can arise.
Bereavement counseling is typically short-term in nature. The therapist provides information about grieving and helps people express and process the intense feelings that arise. The therapist also assists each person in developing a new way of relating to the lost person and creating a new sense of their own identity following this significant life event.
The psychologists at Rowan Center for Behavioral Medicine are experienced in helping patients who are struggling with bereavement. We are committed to partnering with you to help you cope during this difficult time.
