About
Dr. Daniel Garrett is a licensed psychologist. His graduate training focused on providing multiculturally affirming therapy to people from a variety of backgrounds and intersecting identities. His clinical experience has focused on building genuine, supportive connections with his clients to help them achieve their therapeutic goals and to cope with struggles they face. In his graduate training, Dr. Garrett trained in evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to provide support for individuals who may struggle with thoughts or behavior they find unhelpful in their lives.
As an integrative psychologist, Dr. Garrett draws from CBT and ACT approaches to support his clients’ navigation through their presenting concerns. He approaches the relationships in a collaborative fashion, working with each client individually to determine what will best meet their specific needs, wants, and goals in therapy. At the heart of his work, he aims to deeply understand, support, and empower his clients.
Dr. Garrett provides individual and couples therapy through the Rowan Center for Behavioral Medicine. He brings both a variety of experiences and a passion for working with individuals struggling with mood disorders, trauma, life and identity related challenges, dual diagnosis, and members of the LGBTQ and kink and polyamorous/ethical non-monogamy communities.
