About

Dr. Jacquie Talesnick (she/her) is a trauma-informed clinical psychologist with training in various therapeutic models, including CBT, psychodynamic therapy, and sensorimotor psychotherapy. As an integrative therapist, she tailors treatment to each individual with whom she works. She enjoys working interpersonally and collaboratively, taking into account such significant factors as the therapeutic relationship, individual histories, family/cultural dynamics, and the broader sociopolitical context.

Dr. Talesnick offers psychotherapy services to adults in both individual and couples modalities, specializing in working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community around concerns of identity, social support, community resources, and transitions. Her other specialties include treatment of relationship difficulties, trauma, depression, and anxiety. She often works with folks who identify feeling stuck, lost, alone, misunderstood, angry, frustrated, depressed, and burnt out.

Dr. Talesnick believes that enhancing one’s self-awareness and self-acceptance, in conjunction with developing new skills to cope with life’s myriad stressors, may contribute to a more satisfying, authentic, and balanced life. Through a process of side-by-side collaboration in therapy, one may begin to identify significant obstacles and patterns, discover the underlying causes of difficulties, and develop more effective ways of responding to situations.

Please feel free to reach out about whether therapy is the “right” next step on your journey of self-discovery, healing, and personal enrichment.

“The therapeutic relationship is a most sacred human connection built on trust, authenticity, humility, empathy, and collaboration. It involves compassionately bearing witness to and helping someone move through some of their deepest pain and vulnerability. My hope is that every individual I work with feels warmly welcomed, seen, heard, and respected, exactly as they are in the present moment, as well as gently supported on their unique and ongoing growth journeys. It is a profound privilege to be even a small part of someone’s healing and transformation in a process that often involves tears, laughter, celebration of the ‘wins,’ and a genuine commitment to the work.”
