About

Dr. Nisha Nayak is a licensed clinical psychologist with expertise in integrated behavioral health and evidence-based treatment of anxiety disorders and PTSD using exposure-based therapies. She has fifteen years of experience collaborating with health care providers to address the behavioral health issues of primary care patients. She views psychological concerns through a biopsychosocial lens – a holistic approach that considers biological, psychological, and social factors. She utilizes evidence-based treatments and a ‘whole person’ approach in therapy. Dr. Nayak has a strong background in cognitive-behavioral therapies, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness interventions. She also has expertise in the assessment and treatment of nicotine dependence.

Dr. Nayak works with adults across the lifespan and has worked with many clients entering therapy for the first time. She believes there is no ‘one size fits all’ therapy, and uses a personalized approach based on what matters most to the individual client. When in line with the client’s preferences, she offers a solution-focused approach, partnering with clients in identifying their goal(s) and developing a plan to reach them. Finally, Dr. Nayak places high value on attending to the role of culture and identity in the therapeutic process.
